  Workshop: "Benefits of Shiatsu for Pregnancy"Location: Monks Library, 2nd Floor, Harvard University Health Services, 75 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA.  Shiatsu Therapy can help women during all trimesters of pregnancy, while in labor, and also in the postpartum period.  I will show expectant mothers, birth partners and healthcare professionals easy-to-learn techniques for helping balance the body that may relieve back pain, tendonitis, nausea, and other conditions.  Some simple techniques may also be learned for advancing labor and easing delivery. Friday, October 31st, 3:00pm.  Lecture and Demonstration: "Asian Bodywork Therapy".  This lecture will provide an overview of the history and practice of Asian Bodywork Therapy, with an emphasis on shiatsu therapy.  It will be followed by a live demonstration of shiatsu therapy, and a hands-on workshop on how to locate acupressure points for common ailments.  At Alumnae Hall, Room 202, Brown University, Providence, RI.   For members of the Brown University undergraduate Traditional Chinese Medicine Group Independent Study Project.

Thursday, November 13th, 4:00pm.  Moderated Discussion: "Four Futures for Traditional Chinese Medicine in America".  How legitimate is Traditional Chinese Medicine?  How much, if at all, should it integrate with allopathic healthcare? Saturday, December 6th, 11:00am.  Lecture: "The Geography of Whole Health: Reflections on the Shifting Professional Landscape".   Hosted  by the National Institute of Whole Health as part of its Guest Speaker Series.  At  Newton-Wellesley Hospital, 2014 Washington Street, Newton, MA.  This lecture will map out the shifting geography of whole health: from its origins in "alternative medicine" to its maturation in "integrative" healthcare and new frontiers in holistic practice.  These changes are resulting in remarkable new opportunities for whole health professionals.  We will learn practical tools for identifying emerging employment opportunities, finding community, and making a greater impact on the health and wellness of our society.
